Bahyia Al Shuaibi is the founder and CEO of Global Space & Technology Company, the first private space company in the Sultanate of Oman.
Al Shuaibi established Global Space & Technology Company in 2017 to contribute to Oman’s space sector and develop and promote modern technologies to propel the Arabian Gulf’s country knowledge- and industry-based economy.
Headquartered in Muscat, Global Space & Technology Company provides services in space technology, research and consultancy, advanced technologies and education initiatives.
Al Shuaibi is the National Point of Contact in Oman, for the Vienna-based Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC).
The SGAC in Support of the United Nations Programme on Space Applications is a global non-governmental, non-profit organisation and network that represents university students and young space professionals to the United Nations, space agencies, industry, and academia.
A pioneering and distinguished business owner in Oman’s nascent space industry, Al Shuaibi has a master’s degree in Mobile and Satellite Communications, University of Surrey, UK; a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications & Electronics, Oman; a Space Studies Certificate, International Space University, France; and Project Management Certificates & ACPM, George Washington University, United States.
Al Shuaibi is also Chairman of the Businesswomen Committee, Chamber of Oman.
She is also a consultant in space, telecommunications, satellites, technology transformation, project management and knowledge transfer.
