In-person IDEX 2021 and NAVDEX 2021 begin in Abu Dhabi today

The International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2021) and the Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX 2021) take place in the UAE capital from February 21-25, 2021, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The in-person trade events are organised by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Defence and the General Command of the UAE Armed Forces.

The exhibitions, being held with requisite Covid-19 health and safety protocols, will showcase the latest technologies and innovations in the global defence sector, while also supporting the UAE’s defence industry.

A parallel event, the International Defence Conference 2021, was held on February 20, 2021, at the ADNOC Business Centre.

Hybrid format

Held as a hybrid event for defence industry experts from around the world the conference’s theme was ‘The Prosperity and Development of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology and the Protection in the Era of the 4IR’.

Addressing a media conference held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre on February 15, 2021, Major General Staff Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee for IDEX and NAVDEX, said: “Since its inception, IDEX has supported the national and international defence sector.
