LOT Polish Airlines to begin flights from Warsaw to Dubai

LOT Polish Airlines will begin operating direct commercial flights between Warsaw and Dubai with effect from September 19, 2021 and until March 30, 2022.

The flights by the national carrier of Poland will operate three times a week on Boeings 737-800 NG aircraft, along with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, if required.

The flights will take off from Chopin Airport (WAW) in Warsaw, to land at Dubai International Airport (DXB) after an average flight time of six hours.

The new direct flights between Warsaw and Dubai come ahead of the start of Expo 2020 Dubai, the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region, from October 1, 2021-March 31, 2022.

Attractive destination

The start of the new flights will also coincide with the end of the long hot and humid summer period in the UAE and the start of the cold winter season in Poland.

The Warsaw-Dubai flights’ schedule will operate as below:

  • LO 121 WAW-DXB 7:40am – 3:25pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays
  • LO 122 DXB-WAW 5:15pm – 9:35pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays

In recent years, Dubai, with its cosmopolitan flavour, sun, sea and sand amenities, has become increasingly popular as a winter destination with Polish travellers.

In 2019 alone, close to 100,000 people travelled from Poland to Dubai.

This number since declined dramatically, in 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic effect.

Michał Fijoł, Chief Commercial Officer at LOT, said: “I am convinced that passengers will appreciate the schedule [WAW-DXB] which is perfectly suited to both visitors of Expo 2020 Dubai and tourists, as well as the attractive price offer.”

Fijoł added: “This year, in line with the announcements and forecasts for the recovery of passenger traffic, we are constantly focusing on the development of the tourist offer.

“Dubai, in addition to Sri Lanka, is another offer launched for our passengers with a view
to relax in warm countries during the cold winter months in Poland,” Fijoł concluded.

Tickets for the flights have gone on sale.

The new direct flights’ schedule is the first by LOT, since the 1990s, between Poland and the UAE.
