OQ Technology enters collaboration with Dubai’s MBRSC

OQ Technology, a Luxembourg-based satellite 5G IoT start-up, has signed an agreement with the Dubai-based Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) to develop satellite-based advanced communication solutions and services.

OQ Technology deploys 5G innovative solutions to enhance connectivity, scalability, and accessibility for the global satellite telecommunications industry and has begun building a global constellation of nanosatellites to extend cellular 5G Internet-of-Things and massive machine communication in remote and rural areas using its patented technology.

Omar Qaise, Founder and CEO, OQ Technology, said: “The partnership with MBRSC is strategic for our business.

“It is also a step forward in venture collaboration between space institutes and space startups in the region [Arabian Gulf],” he added.

The MBRSC marked the start of its ambitious Emirates Mars Mission in July 2020 when it launched its Hope probe to Mars.

The Emirati probe entered Mars’ orbit on February 9, 2021, after a seven-month long journey and took its first image of the Red Planet on February 10, 2021.
