Air Arabia to fly from Sharjah to Doha from this week
Air Arabia will resume direct flights between Sharjah and Doha, Qatar’s capital, with effect from January 18, 2021.
The resumption of the flights – after a three-year break – follows the recent signing of the Al Ula Accord in Saudi Arabia between Qatar and GCC nations that ended a three-year boycott of Qatar, including air, land and sea transport.
Air Arabia customers can now book direct flights between Sharjah and Doha by visiting the Sharjah-based low-cost carrier’s website, by calling the airline’s call centre or through standard travel agencies.
Passengers travelling on Air Arabia can avail of free Covid-19 insurance coverage.
The Covid-19 travel insurance is included as part of the booking and no additional documents are required from passengers.
As of date, Air Arabia is the first UAE-based carrier to resume regular flight operations from the UAE to Qatar.
Other UAE-based carriers, including Emirates and Etihad Airways, are yet to announce resumption of their flights to Qatar.
