Singapore Airshow to be held from February 15-22, 2022
The eighth edition of the Singapore Airshow – Asia’s biggest aerospace and defence event – will be held from February 15-22, 2022, at the Changi Exhibition Centre.
The seventh edition of the airshow was held from February 11-16, 2020, and witnessed 30,000 trade visitors from more than 110 countries and over 20,000 public visitors.
Leck Chet Lam, Managing Director, Experia Events, organiser of Singapore Airshow, said: “Despite global concerns surrounding Covid-19, we were encouraged with solid support from over 930 participating countries from more than 45 countries.
“The presence of over 90% of participating companies at Singapore Airshow 2020 is a clear testimony of the platform’s strategic relevance in the global aviation and defence ecosystem,” Lam added.
“We will continue to stand in solidarity with all our stakeholders in the aviation and defence industries as we weather this challenging period.
“I am confident we will emerge even stronger and continue to deliver a more robust Singapore Airshow 2022 that facilitates the transformation and growth of Asia’s aviation and defence industries,” Lam concluded.
A key feature of Singapore Airshow 2022 will be the Singapore Airshow Aviation Leadership Summit (SAALS).
SAALS will bring together high-level participants from regulators, the private sector, government and airline operators to address a wide range of topics, from environment liberalisation and security challenges to salient strategic trends the Asia-Pacific region faces.
As one of the top three airshows in the world, Singapore Airshow 2022 will also feature business and innovation forums to facilitate crucial conversations aimed at propelling the aerospace industry forward.
International aerospace buyers, government agencies and industry leaders will share insights and discuss the opportunities, challenges, solutions and strategies that the aerospace and defence industry is witnessing.
The 2022 edition of the airshow will also unveil its What’s Next fixture for startups, with a focus on big data, AI, autonomous systems and cyber security.
Beyond pitching to potential investors and accelerators, What’s Next will serve as a unique platform for startups to interact with industry heavyweights, share ideas and establish new business development leads.
Bi-annual Singapore Airshow has meanwhile refreshed its logo to better illustrate its mission to inspire ideas and influence decisions that move the needle in strategic issues for global, national and societal needs and progress of the aerospace and defence industries.
Held bi-annually, Dubai Airshow takes places from November 14-18, 2021.
